Why I Design

I am Sawyer Huston Clarke.

From the earliest points of my memory, I was a destructive child. For the longest time, my nickname was β€œThe Destroyer.” That soon changed as I started to actively engage in the world. I soon became a creator, designer, and bringer of joy.

Every time I set forth to design a new product, I ask myself how I can foster joy, imagination, and play through my work. The intention behind each design is to bring the pure curiosity and imagination of a child back into the world. Play is integral to the human development and learning process. It has also been found to help regulate us as adults, so having products to reintroduce play at all levels can help bring about a better, happier world, one step at a time.

If I can design a product that touches even one soul, and bring them the joy of play I had as a kid, I have succeeded as a designer.
